Brass for BRASS!

[Please note this concert is now taking place on Monday 19th December]

This year, the annual Christmas concert for The Kempston Concert Band is raising funds for BRASS.

The idea to support the charity was put forward by Kathy Mortimer, who plays the trombone in the concert band and is a volunteer English language teacher for BRASS. She says “teaching English with BRASS has enabled me to meet and work with people from all different nationalities and cultures and hopefully help them to feel welcome and part of the Bedford community.

We plan to use money raised from the concert to buy more English teaching resources for our weekly Afghan women’s group”.

Kempston Concert Band has recently celebrated its 50th anniversary and normally holds three concerts a year. Of course, the band is made up of not only brass, but also clarinets, flutes and percussion as well as the trumpets, horns and trombones.

The Christmas concert is on Monday 19th (not 12th as originally planned) December at 7.30 pm at Kempston East Methodist Church.

Tickets are available on the door (£8/£5) or at www.ticketsource.co.uk/KCB. Everyone is welcome.
